Company Background

 

New Leaf Tree Services Inc was established in 2011 by ISA Certified Arborist Caleb White (NY-5816A) and his former business partner Peter Madsen. Together they built a loyal customer base and skilled crew, performing expert arboreal work in the heart of Columbia County NY.

When Peter moved on from the business in 2019, Caleb continued to grow the services and capabilities of New Leaf, while continuing to recruit and maintain a talented and dedicated team.

We take pride in our attention to detail, our focus on safe working practices, and our commitment towards supporting our crew members with meaningful and sustaining work.

Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC)

New Leaf Tree Services Inc is proud to support the Columbia Land Conservancy in Chatham NY. The Columbia Land Conservancy works with our community to conserve the farmland, forests, wildlife habitat, and the rural character of Columbia County.

Film Columbia

New Leaf Tree Services Inc is pleased to continue sponsoring the Film Columbia Festival at the Crandell Theatre in Chatham, NY. We've been involved with this event since 2013, and couldn't be happier to be able to support such a great event. Kids Need Music

New Leaf is happy to continue our support of Kids Need Music, a concert series benefiting the Hudson City School District’s music fund. This fund provides instruments to students who wish to learn to play but cannot due to a lack of instruments. 

Morris Memorial Association

New Leaf Tree Services Inc is honored to support the Morris Memorial Association in Chatham NY. The Morris is home to countless after school youth programs and events, as well as youth sporting leagues and other community functions.

High & Mighty Stables

New Leaf is excited to continue our support of High & Mighty. The mission of High & Mighty Therapeutic Riding and Driving Center is to provide equine-assisted services to those of all abilities, with the goal of enhancing physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Nassau - Shatford Little League

We are big baseball fans! Caleb coaches two teams (little league minors and tee ball) that his kids play on, and loves supporting their little league as a sponsor. Hit the ball. Catch the ball. Throw the ball.

Owner Caleb White (NY-5816A) is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist's, an accreditation earned through years of experience and learning.

We take great care to ensure we are working safely, efficiently, and responsibly at all times.

Caleb White, Owner

ISA Certified Arborist NY-5816A & TRAQ Accreditation

Where are you from? Born in Buffalo, NY I moved with my family to Columbia County in 1990. I currently live near Malden Bridge NY.

What do you enjoy most about working with trees?

Nature is truly amazing - to be able to spend our days observing and working with trees is very special. Sharing my knowledge, and assisting others with how they relate to trees and the environment feels very meaningful and rewarding.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

I live on a homestead farm with my wonderful wife Tressa and our three young boys. I enjoy making maple syrup in the spring, harvesting from our garden in the summer, hunting in the fall, and splitting firewood in the winter. 

Johannes Zygla

Where are you from? Cape Town, South Africa

What do you enjoy most about working with trees?

My love of equipment, tools, and the outdoors led me to pursue this unique trade. I bring a steadying hand and expert technique to every job.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

I'm a volunteer firefighter outside of work.

What do you enjoy most about working with trees?

Supporting a valuable living resource that gives us clean air to breathe, beautifies our properties, prevents soil erosion, and gives shelter to a large diversity of wildlife.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

Out-of-work interests include photography, yoga, writing, nature hikes/foraging, creative cooking, and developing new skill sets.

Woodworking and finding a good animal trail to follow through the woods.
